Artist Statement
I am Erica Feinberg, a community-taught artist whose creative journey began after completing my pharmacy residency in Nashville. Seeking a creative outlet, I discovered a passion for painting and have since focused on exploring the interplay between science and art. My work primarily employs acrylic, gouache, and acrylic gouache, mediums that allow me to capture the beauty and complexity of the natural world.
Inspired by the tradition of plein air painting, I delve into themes of nature and the environment. My practice is driven by a fascination with how scientific principles and natural phenomena can be translated into visual art. Through my work, I aim to bridge the gap between the analytical and the aesthetic, using color and form to evoke the delicate balance of the natural world.
In my creative process, I draw from my background in science to inform my artistic approach. I focus on capturing the essence of my outdoor experiences and the intricacies of natural landscapes, blending observation with imagination. My goal is to create works that not only reflect the beauty of nature but also inspire a deeper appreciation for the environment.
Through my art, I hope to invite viewers to experience nature in a new light and to reflect on the ways in which science and art can coexist and enrich each other.
